Spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, is the perfect time to explore the Old Hokuriku Road. Just outside Kosugi Station, a row of cherry trees stretches for about 3 km along both sides of the Gejo River. Why not walk beneath falling petals and discover this historic route? Nearby spots such as Yakushoji Pond Park and Taikoyama Land also offer beautiful cherry blossoms.

“Takeuchi Genzo Memorial Museum”

This memorial museum is housed in a renovated former Kosugi Town Hall. Inside the atmospheric wooden building, you can view works of plaster relief (Kote-e) by Takeuchi Genzo (竹内 源造). At the hands-on area, you can also try creating your own Kote-e artwork.

A great base for your trip is the “Roadside Station Marugoto Imizu (道の駅まるごと射水).” In addition to local food and souvenirs, you can also visit the adjacent museum to learn more about Imizu’s culture.
